The Miller Arts Scholars Program is an interdisciplinary collective of active artists supported by grants and a creative community that serves to embolden their art.
We endeavor to have meaningful presence in the art community while also facilitating a dialogue and close relationship between students and faculty. The program enables funding for both interdisciplinary and discipline specific research projects within the arts we represent.
The J. Sanford Miller Family Arts Scholars is an enrichment program for exceptional students overseen by the chairs of the departments of Music, Drama, Studio Art, and Dance. It is an interdisciplinary arts program comprised of student researchers, creators, interpreters, collaborators and advocates actively engaged in the arts and beyond within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Virginia. Unlike the situation found at most large research universities, Arts Scholars are part of a small group of undergraduate students who have direct access to the best resources in the arts at the University of Virginia including personal introductions to our most distinguished arts faculty.
