Expanding Opportunities for Students
Students are the lifeblood of Arts & Sciences. Much of our reputation as an institution rests on the quality of the undergraduate education we offer, and the national stature we have in many fields is directly connected to the excellence of our graduate programs. To succeed in our aspiration to move into the front rank of all universities, public and private, Arts & Sciences must take the lead in providing greater opportunities for our undergraduates to explore the full breadth of the curriculum, to participate actively in the discovery of new knowledge, and to broaden and deepen their understanding of the world around them. We must also provide significantly increased financial support for our graduate programs so that we can attract the very best students, critical partners in the core research and instructional mission.
