Performs various tasks such as answering phones, stuffing envelopes, and data entry. Flexible or regular hours and on-call opportunities are available. Depending on the assignment, a pleasant telephone manner and good handwriting may be necessary.
Manage and facilitate set up of stage/seating set-ups, changing of stage/seating set-ups during UVA CMS concerts, and disassembly of set-up after concert.
Archive old programs, press releases, and photos in computer files via scanner.
Distributes calendars, brochures and flyers throughout the Charlottesville area and surrounding communities. Enjoy exploring the rich Charlottesville area while helping to publicize and promote events and activities in Old Cabell Hall. Flyers and promotions material will be distributed throughout local schools (including the University grounds), local shops and businesses, restaurants and a variety of other locations. Must have own transportation, enjoy interacting with the public, and be able to work independently.
Takes photographs at rehearsals, concerts and events both at Old Cabell Hall and at other venues around Charlottesville. Will be a representative at Music Department events and will be exposed numerous genres of music and performance while getting the unique chance to build a photography portfolio. Music or Studio-Art Majors not necessary, but students must be well organized, able to work independently and be familiar with digital cameras and photo-editing software.

Research artist/composer and respective work and write notes, which will be included in event program brochure.
Transport and set up chairs, music stands, and other various equipment to venues outside of Old Cabell Hall (i.e. O-Hill Forum, Minor Hall, etc)
Organize receptions for concerts at Old Cabell Hall by soliciting local restaurants for donations and/or contacting members of the Charlottesville and UVA community to donate prepared foods.
Creates a welcome and safe environment for our patrons. Tears tickets, distributes program, directs patrons, assists with any unforeseen issues. Must have neat appearance, pleasant and patient demeanor and enjoy interacting with the public.
Raise funds/collect donations for more usher cake! (and maybe other cool things like t-shirts, mugs, and pens.)
