The Charlottesville & University Symphony Orchestra and the U.Va University Singers continue a festive community tradition, presenting their eighth annual Family Holiday Concerts on Saturday, December 1, at 8:00 pm, and Sunday, December 2, at 3:30 pm. Michael Slon, director of U.Va's premiere vocal ensemble, will conduct the performances at Old Cabell Hall on the Grounds of the University of Virginia.
Through the years, these popular concerts have launched the holiday season with an array of music ranging from the peaceful to the joyous. Concertgoers young and old, naughty and nice, will recognize favorites that make them positively glow: Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride,” selections from the beloved film “It’s a Wonderful Life,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “Winter Wonderland” featuring newly appointed U.Va voice faculty member Randall Criswell Ball, “The Twelve Days of Christmas” with audience participation and more!
Free parking is available in the U.Va Central Grounds Parking Garage located on Emmet Street. Old Cabell Hall is wheelchair accessible.
