
The University of Virginia McIntire Department of Music is pleased to announce the Spring Concert of the UVA Wind Ensemble on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at 3:30pm in Old Cabell Hall.
The Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. William Pease and assistant director Andrew Koch, features 45 of the most talented musicians from every school at the University.The ensemble performance will include Niagara Falls, Green Bushes, Firefly, and more.
The Wind Ensemble will be joined on stage by the UVA Concert Band, under the direction of Andrew Koch and assistant director Michael Idzior. This group is composed of about 70 students, and will be performing their own concert on Monday, April 30, in the Amphitheatre.
In conjunction with this concert, the UVA Wind Ensemble will be traveling to Virginia Beach, VA, on Saturday, April 21 – Sunday, April 22. At 7:00pm on Saturday, April 21, the group will be performing with the Princess Anne High School and Churchland High School bands for the “Virginia Bandarama,” taking place at Princess Anne High School. Tickets for the Wind Ensemble Concert at 3:30pm on Sunday, April 29 are $10 for the General Public, $5 for Students, and free for UVA Students who reserve at least 24 hours in advance.
