Checklist for Incoming Graduate Students

First Step for All Applicants with Offers of Admission -
GSAS requires that all applicants communicate their official response to admission offers on their online application, regardless of contact with the department who offered admission or the GSAS Admissions staff. Students who intend to accept their offer must accept their offer online in order to matriculate.

The University of Virginia is a member of the Council of Graduate Schools and honors its Resolution regarding offers of financial support. "Students are under no obligation to respond to offers of financial support prior to April 15; earlier deadlines for the acceptance of such offers violate the intent of this Resolution." Offers of admission that have not yet been accepted by April 15 can be withdrawn in order to extend any remaining offers to applicants still on a waiting list for final decision.
