Attention Fourth-Years:
The Virginia College Advising Corps (formerly known as the University of Virginia College Guide Program) is looking for motivated, service-oriented individuals to join the program for the 2012-13 school year. The Virginia College Advising Corps is a two-year AmeriCorps program that places recent UVa graduates into high needs high schools and community colleges across the state. Guides serve as college advisers, mentoring students as they complete the SAT and ACT, fill out college applications, and navigate the financial aid process. Although our focus is on serving low-income and first generation students, we are in these schools to help any student who asks as we work to create a college going culture in our schools and their surrounding communities.
You can also become a fan of the Virginia College Advising Corps on Facebook and check the profile regularly for recruitment updates and college access news.
Recruitment Nights will be held on Grounds Tuesday, November 8, 2011 and Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in the Peabody Hall Auditorium from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
Applications are due on February 10,2012.
