There is no physical education requirement in the College. Students may apply a maximum of 2 PHYE credits toward their College degree; each PHYE course carries 1 credit. All PHYE credits are counted as part of the 18 credits permitted “outside” the College. Only one PHYE course may be taken per semester for the grade of Credit/No Credit (no other grading option is available for these courses), and strict attendance policies apply. No degree credit is awarded for participating in varsity athletics. Graduate students must sign up for physical education classes under EDHS 341, and must take the class for a letter grade.

The School of Education also offers courses in the Department of Human Services (EDHS). You may count EDHS courses numbered 353 and above as part of the 18 credits permitted “outside” the College. However, no more than 6 credits of EDHS course work may be counted toward your degree.
