The Department places incoming students in the appropriate level language course once they have taken a placement test and consulted with Mr. David Herman, 103 Cabell Hall. Second-year Russian (RUSS 201, 202) is open only to first-year students who place out of RUSS 102.

The Russian House provides a student-led, Russian-speaking environment within the University. The Russian House offers communal meals and activities, including films and talks. Students who participate in the Russian House Program earn one credit. For more information and application materials, contact the Department.
