Dual Enrollment Credit

If you took courses in high school as Dual Enrollment you should have a transcript sent to Mrs. Gloria Gates, University of Virginia, College of Arts and Sciences, Garrett Hall, P.O. Box 400133, Charlottesville, VA 22904-4133 before JUNE 23. We will evaluate your transcript as soon as it is received. Transcripts received after this date will be evaluated over the summer; you can check with your Faculty Advisor in the fall to see what credit you have earned. If your advisor does not have an evaluation form in your folder, contact Mrs. Gates in 211-C Garrett Hall.

A few important facts regarding dual enrollment are:

  • You may receive no more, and may receive fewer, than the number of credits earned at the host institutions.
  • Do not repeat any courses for which you have earned dual enrollment credit.
  • You may not use dual enrollment courses to meet the first or second writing requirement or the foreign language requirement.
  • If you have foreign language dual enrollment credit, you must still take the Orientation placement test.
  • Since you may not earn credit for the same course twice, if you repeat a course at U.Va. for which you have already received dual enrollment credit, you will lose your dual enrollment credit.
