CIO Co-Sponsorships

Below are the appropriate procedures to be followed when requesting funding from the ASC. If you have any questions about funding for your event, please contact the Treasurer, Serena Rasoul (). Co-sponsorships are usually requested for $250 or less but can be requested for up to $500.

Pre-Event:

  1. Fill out a co-sponsorship request form and email it to the cosponsorship chair, Heyward Grimball (), or drop it off at the front desk of Garrett Hall.
  2. It is required that you submit your request AT LEAST three weeks prior to the date of your event, in order to allow us to review and make a decision on your proposal in a timely fashion.
  3. If indicated, present the co-sponsorship at the earliest ASC general body meeting.
  4. Receive co-sponsorship request approval and approved monetary amount via e-mail.
  5. If you are requesting funding for a speaker, please include the following items in a detailed description of your event:
    Speaker bio
    Proposed title and topic of the speech

Post-Event:

  1. Submit DOC document icon Reimbursement Form (.doc, 34KB) (**WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE EVENT**) with ORIGINAL receipts. This form can also be dropped off at the front desk of Garrett Hall.

A department grant is a request for funding for an event that relates to a specific department(s). These events are planned by the department. Funding is available up to $300. Please contact Serena Rasoul with your application or for any additional inquiries regarding grant funding.

Faculty Student Interaction Grant DOC document icon Application (.doc, 23KB)

This is a new grant created to promote interaction between faculty and students within their departments in the College. These requests are up to $200, and must be submitted three weeks prior to the proposed event.

The CLAS Research Grant will give 5 students in the College $1500 each to conduct research on any topic of their choice. Applications must be submitted electronically by Friday, Feb. 22nd to .  All applicants must have a faculty mentor.  Questions?  Email .

ASC’s funds come from the CLAS student activities fee, which is included as part of tuition.
